Don’t try this at home. Or anywhere, really.

This next story comes straight outta the “That’s so crazy it just might work” files: a VW Jetta driver was caught on camera doing 75 miles per hour down the highway while driving with only one front wheel.

The video, the sole YouTube upload of a user going by the handle “Jonno,” was first posted back in April, but it’s currently enjoying something of an online renaissance after being discovered by the Internet curators at Digg and posted on that site yesterday. The clip is less than a minute long, but even in spite of its brevity and dim lighting, the high-definition footage from the Charlotte, North Carolina suburbs makes it pretty obvious that what the narrator says is true: the car is driving down the highway without its left-hand wheel. Incredibly enough, the brake rotors alone seem to be enough to keep the car’s forward motion going.

Then, towards the end of the clip, the driver—who the narrator describes as a “she,” so we’re going to assume is a woman—manages to rise to an even higher level of on-road idiocy, blazing out of an exit lane and back onto the highway at almost the last possible second, prompting a startled remark from the filmographer—and likely quite a few other nearby road users.

Well, at least she had the decency to put on her flashers.

Considering the scrapes and dings adjacent to the gaping wheelwell, we’re guessing the rim went missing as a result of a recent accident, and that the driver is en route to a trusted repair shop. Either that...or she just gives exactly zero f***ks.
