About
James is a former staff writer for The Drive. He has changed the conversation around electrification, debunked misinformation online, and become a prominent hunter of what he calls “automotive cryptids.”
Experience
James was a staff writer for The Drive from 2017 to 2024. During the most pivotal decade in the history of the automotive industry, he has changed the conversation around electrification, debunked misinformation, and brought light to ill-documented history in and beyond the world of cars.
His hands-on education in vehicle service, familiarity with the racing world, and involvement in grassroots racing make him well-read on current car culture. At the same time, his interest in transportation and the climate at large give him a unique perspective on the place of cars in our society. James is focused on where the industry and the culture surrounding it are headed, and what that means for the people involved.
Education
Attended Front Range Community College from 2013-2018, studying business, journalism, and ethics. Departed with ASE certification in automotive service.
