Ford May Eliminate the V6 Mustang and Porsche Shuts Down the Entry-Level Car: The Evening Rush

As many of you already know The Grand Tour finally aired on Amazon last week and it definitely held up to expectations. The show was chalk full of the classic Top Gear theatrics and had the production value of a James Bond film. Plus, the opening scene had three monstrous Mustangs in it so we were smiling right off the bat. It will be interesting to see where the show goes from here as they have already featured a LaFerrari, a P1 and a 918.

Leaked images and mild detective work have indicated some significant changes to the 2018 Ford Mustang. According to credible sources, Ford may be dropping the V6 engine and further marketing the EcoBoost four-cylinder. This doesn’t come as a huge surprise as the EcoBoost seemed to be edging out the V6 in the performance category. In addition, spy photos seem to indicate that the front end will see cosmetic changes due to a heavy amount of camouflaging.

Porsche has announced they have no intension of adding another “affordable” or entry-level Porsche into their line-up. Porsche will be sticking with the Boxster and the Macan for the foreseeable future. Porsche Global Sales Chief Detlev von Platen indicated that the brand has “nothing to gain” by introducing a cheaper model to the line-up as they are more focused on producing quality and not quantity.
