A broken gasket is more likely to occur within the lifetime of the warranty than a faulty engine, and a standard powertrain warranty won’t cover that.

Chevy provides drivers with a physical copy and online access to the maintenance schedule, though it differs for every vehicle. If even one oil change or filter maintenance is skipped, the entire warranty coverage is mitigated. As such, it is only well-suited to those who are practically able to access preventative maintenance. Since you can’t do the oil change yourself (it must be done at an approved location), this can pose a logistical issue to those in rural settings.
