Wholesale Warranties Overview

Wholesale Warranties offers both RV and automotive coverage. It has a wide range of plans, including:

  • Extended RV Warranty. A comprehensive plan there to protect you from mechanical and electrical damage. The individual plans differ, letting you choose which parts to address on your RV.
  • Trailer and 5th Wheel. This is to address large trailers pulled along on a fifth wheel. It is effectively extended warranty protection for campers being towed.
  • Pop-Up Camper Protection. Coverage designed for campers and pop-ups, these plans come in a range of prices and coverage options.
  • Roadside Assistance. This plan offers towing and lockout services, so you're protected around the clock against breakdowns. It also provides fuel delivery services if you run out of gas on the road.
  • RV Tire and Wheel Plan. This protects you from paying hefty amounts if either your tires or rims become damaged.

For cars and trucks, there are also a lot of different plans available. All of the various warranties work throughout both the United States and Canada. The plans offer extra value by including several perks, such as towing coverage, fuel delivery, and lockout assistance. While there are different plans, you can customize them for your particular needs. The plans address:

  • Engine and transmission
  • Steering system
  • Electrical components
  • Air conditioner and heating

Pros

  • Variety of plans for vehicles of all sizes
  • Online quotes by phone or email
  • Roadside perks to each warranty
  • Coverage throughout Canada and the U.S.

Cons

  • Only reached an A-level rating with the Better Business Bureau
  • Several negative user reviews related to both plans and service
  • Since the plans are for large-scale vehicles, they are more costly

Warranty In-Depth

The coverage offered through Wholesale Warranties is relatively comprehensive. Since there are so many plans, you can customize the coverage and make it more budget-friendly. Though many businesses provide replacement parts and car and truck warranties, Wholesale Warranties stands out for protecting RVs.

Extended Warranty Coverage

While the site does not explicitly refer to this plan's cost, quotes are available through the site. Reviewers note that the plans cost several thousand dollars and are eligible for cancellation and prorated refunds, should the situation arise.

The extended warranty arrangement is very comprehensive. It addresses the engine, transmission, and the radiator and air conditioning system. Since it is an RV warranty, the provisions are more extensive. It deals with the refrigeration, the generator, as well as the water system.

The extended plan deals with wiring, televisions inside the RV, along with smaller-scale issues like gaskets and seals. There are add-on features to address other details.

  • Consequential Damage. If an issue arises caused by a non-covered part of the vehicle, this option will ensure that the damage is covered.
  • Brown Out. If a problem occurs to your electrical system due to insufficient power supply, it covers the cost.
  • Claims Support. This is there to assist in situations where a claim is needed (or already underway). The support staff will lend a hand with any questions or concerns.
  • Pre-Purchase Inspection. Certified and trained staff will assess the RV quality before your purchase to ensure that everything is in working order.

Fifth Wheel Coverage

There to assist in unforeseen repairs, this plan covers the expense of broken-down RVs. It covers the towing cost and ensures that you get a fair price for the necessary repairs. There are different tiers to this type of plan.

The first is relatively basic, there to address the necessities to function. Called the exclusionary plan, it covers all the main parts except pre-existing damage, aesthetic and structural issues with the upholstery or glass. Though it covers mechanical issues, it won’t deal with routine maintenance.

However, there is also a comprehensive towable RV warranty that deals with the air conditioner, water system, electricals, and your RV appliances. This coverage ensures that you are protected when both functional and convenience parts break down.

Pop-Up Camper Protection

These plans incorporate a nominal deductible, which enables you to get cost-effective repairs in your camper. It covers issues such as the heating and air conditioning systems, as well as plumbing issues, wheel concerns, and other damage, which can be costly.

Since there are such a wide variety of pop-up styles and types, it helps that there are multiple plans available. To find the most applicable type of coverage, it helps to get a quote from the provider directly. This can be done either by phone or email through the site.

Common Repair Costs

To assess the warranties' overall merit, it helps to understand how expensive the repairs themselves can be, including parts and labor. Some of the most common issues and repair costs with RVs include:

  • Engine Repair/Replacement: Prices vary, though a complete replacement can run between $4,000 and $5,000.
  • RV Refrigeration: Between $1,000 and $2,000 for the part, in addition to the cost of labor during repairs.
  • RV Transmission: Up to $4,000, including labor to replace this part.
  • Fuel System: This can range from less than $1,000 and $4,000 depending on the damage.
  • Brake System: This can cost several thousand dollars, including labor fees.

Things We Like

There are quite a few things about these warranties that we appreciate. The first is that the plans aren't one-size-fits-all—there are different choices depending on the RV's size and type. This way, you don't have the same coverage for a pop-up as for a motorhome.

We like the ease of accessing quotes through the company directly. It is a straightforward process to get this information through the toll-free phone number or the online portal. There are many plan options, so you can use the quote as a starting point to find a solution that's in-budget and sufficiently comprehensive.

Another benefit is each of the plans come with a roadside assistance perk—from towing to fuel delivery to lockout, all of the plans are made to keep you on the road. Since the arrangements are viable throughout both the U.S. and Canada, there are a lot of benefits.

Feeling Overwhelmed?

Things We Don’t Like

While there are many advantages, there are a few things that we don't necessarily appreciate about Wholesale Warranties. One issue is that the company is only rated at an A-level through the Better Business Bureau. Though this is still technically a good standing, it falls short of the A+ rating.

Another concern is that there are multiple negative reviews, dropping its overall credibility. While there were only two complaints officially opened in the last few years (and both were resolved), there are several reports of other issues relating to slow or denied claims and problems with canceling the account.

Finally, we don't like that since the plans are for such large-scale vehicles, they are a lot more costly. Some users reported finding that they didn't get their money's worth. However, other users mentioned the coverage is good, if a little less budget-friendly.

FAQs

Whether you're new to the RV lifestyle or well-experienced, it is normal to have a few questions about coverage. Though each plan's specifics will vary somewhat due to the difference in each RV, some generalizations remain true across the board. To assist, we've sought to address the key inquiries from drivers.

Q: Can you buy a warranty for a used RV?

Yes, you can get coverage for a used RV. However, it is necessary to get an inspection to ensure that all the protected parts are in good working order.

Q: Are spark plugs covered under warranty?

Though there are some add-ons that could cover this part, it is usually not covered. This is because it’s deemed normal wear and tear.

Is a Warranty Policy from Wholesale Warranties Worth It?

If you have an RV, whether it’s a motorhome or a pop-up, having extended coverage is important. Wholesale Warranties offers you a wide range of options for RV warranties. Though the plans are somewhat costly, even the basic arrangements tend to cover the most expensive repairs. To get the most value out of the plan, it is always helpful to check the pricing and coverage against competitors. Provided you find the right fit, the plans through Wholesale Warranties can definitely be worth the investment.
