If we had a nickel for every time we’d seen a video of someone climbing into a supercar for the first time and crash almost immediately, we’d probably have enough money by now to purchase our own high-horsepower sports car. Still, this particular video stands out for one particular reason: the driver of the errant Lamborghini was the wife of a politician in India.

According to the Hindustan Times, moments after Indian legislator Narendra Mehta gave his wife Suman an orange Lamborghini Huracan on August 27th for her birthday, she climbed into the car, took off—and immediately plowed the all-wheel-drive sports car into a self-propelled rickshaw parked nearby. (Also, apparently self-propelled rickshaws are a thing.) And because this is 2016, a bystander captured the crash on video.

No injuries were reported, but the body of the rickshaw was damaged, according to reports. A police complaint was never filed in regard to the incident, however, as Mehta—who the Hindustan Times describes as being a “maverick businessman” before he entered politics—reportedly paid for the damage to the rickshaw. The driver of the rickshaw has purportedly not been seen in the area again, supposedly fleeing the area after learning of Mehta’s status.

In India, the Lamborghini Huracan reportedly costs 55 million rupees, or around $825,000 at current exchange rates. By comparison, a brand-new Huracan in the States costs less than one-third of that...and that’s in a country with an average per-person income ten times higher than India's. Put it this way: To the average Indian, buying a Huracan would be like buying a Maybach Exelero would be here.
