The Mecum Auction in Los Angeles this weekend is giving you, the guy with the silver pony tail, the opportunity to return to your glory days with a cherry 1974 Pontiac Trans Am 455 Super Duty. Boasting a 455-CI 7.5-liter V8, this red three-speed Trans Am is something you can boogie to.
The beefed-up 455-SD made a hefty 310 horsepower (290 horsepower after emissions regulations…) and 390lb-ft of torque. That was enough for the sporty muscle car to shoot through the quarter mile in 13.751 at 103.56mph. Pretty impressive numbers for the 3,600-lb naturally aspirated coupe.

The particular car being auctioned off was originally purchased by John Woolfe Racing in England as a promotional car and has just 72,896 miles on it. No major modifications or rebuilds have been documented, however, minor restoration occurred at 62,000 miles.
We look forward to see how much this mint Trans Am goes for since the last time a 1974 Pontiac Trans AM 455 Super Duty was auction off it went for $111,100 even though it was originally sold for $4,929.
