As we’ve recently learned, the next evolution of the madness that is the 707-horsepower Dodge Challenger Hellcat will be called the Demon. Though we don’t know too much about it yet, there are two things that we are sure of—it will have huge drag tires and a whole lot of supercharger whine.
Dodge confirmed in a press release Thursday that its new car will come with lightweight 18×11 wheels that are fitted with 315/40R18 Nitto NT05R drag racing tires in the front and back. The automaker claims that its the first production car ever to come from the factory with drag rubber. To fit all that rubber, that Demon has widened fender flares that add 3.5 inches to the width of the car. Also, as we learned last week, the new muscle car will be 200 pounds lighter than the Hellcat. Perfect for those who like speed…or uh, light cars.
As we inch closer and closer to the arrival of the New York International Auto Show in April, Dodge continues to drop teaser videos of the Demon. In the last video—shared to the Dodge YouTube page Thursday— you see a massive burnout and hear what is almost definitely supercharger whine.
According to the launch site Dodge set up for the Demon, the next teaser video drops a week from today, so check back then for more information.
