Drive Wire for September 22nd, 2016: VW Promises to Fix All Dieselgate Cars in Europe by 2017
The agreement means dirty diesels will finally fall in line with EU emissions standards.
Today on Drive Wire, The Drive discusses the news that Volkswagen says it will have all 8.5 million of Europe's excessively-dirty diesel-powered cars cleaned up by 2017. In a meeting with the European Commission's consumer commissioner, a member of the VW board pledged to have a plan to let customers know about the clean-up plans ready by the end of this year, with the cars all brought in line with EU emission standards by the autumn of the next.
