Lil’ Problem at Virginia International Raceway

Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge red-flagged for rain
www.thedrive.com

The tropical storm threatening Florida has apparently made it all the way to Virgina International Raceway, where it surprised everybody — which, of course, means cars skidding off course on slick tires like hockey pucks — until IMSA mercifully red-flagged the action to let the storm pass.

Fine for the racers, but not so fine for some of the pit crew, which found themselves slogging around in nearly a foot of water trapped between the concrete wall and a building. Fortunately, there were enough live electrical wires to follow to safety…

Racing will resume shortly.
