WEC Lone Star Le Mans Race Day: The GTE Cars

The LMP1 and LMP2 prototypes may look like UFOs, but the GTE cars are the ones we all know and love. This is where Ferrari and Porsche and Aston Martin and Ford duke it out for endurance supremacy. The results are less predictable, and the liveries are stunning. 

Here's a look at all the GTE cars that ran at COTA, during this final Lone Star Le Mans. 

AF Corse brought two Ferrari 488 GTE entries, and the # 51 managed to hold off the Porsche Factory Team's #92 Porsche 911 GT3 RSR for the win at COTA.© Rip Shaub - All Rights Reserved
The winner gets a second look. Alessandro Pier Guidi and James Calado had a fight on their hands against their sister car, the #92 Porsche and the #95 Aston Martin. Despite puncturing a tire with 11 minutes left, they managed to hang on for the win.© Rip Shaub - All Rights Reserved

Ford Performance had high hopes of securing a victory on American soil, but they had a rough day. Priaulx and Tincknell piloted the #67 to 7th out of 8 in LMGTE Pro.© Rip Shaub - All Rights Reserved
