Since its inception, Tesla has been known to plant cheeky Easter eggs in its vehicles. In the past, Tesla has hidden features like rainbow glowing charge ports and a James Bond-themed submarine illustration of an owner’s car à la The Spy Who Loved Me. Now, Elon Musk has hinted at another via his Twitter account. According to the tweet, simply tap the Tesla logo on the screen three times, and you’ll be then prompted with a screen that allows you to sketch and doodle, much like the early days of Microsoft paint.
Musk has already shown off Tesla owners’ portraits on his Twitter feed as well. You can see here the series of releases that Musk has put out over the last several days.
This is all part of one of the most significant updates to Tesla’s software. Along with the sketch pad, cars equipped with Autopilot V8.1 can be parked autonomously from the key fob or Tesla app on a phone. Also, Autosteer can now be enabled at 80 mph as opposed to 55 mph in the last version. These new features round out this stage of Tesla’s Autopilot system.
