Rolls-Royce is one of the world's most luxurious manufacturers and its factory warranty should match that. If you are one of the lucky few who have a Rolls, then you understand just how comfortable they can be. The company’s four-year, unlimited factory warranty is one of the best when it comes to high-end British engineering and here are a few reasons why.

Warranty In-Depth

If you’re considering a Rolls-Royce, you will most definitely want it covered by a warranty. They’re sleek, elegant, and expensive vehicles that fixing up or repairing will set you back a bit. Each Rolls-Royce that rolls off the line comes with a four-year, unlimited mileage, regional warranty. The warranty covers bumper-to-bumper and service so your Rolls is protected and continues serving you through the miles.

Bumper-to-Bumper Coverage

Rolls-Royce’s bumper-to-bumper coverage starts as soon as you register the British-engineered vehicle. It covers everything from the front to the rear bumper either for an unlimited amount of miles or the first four years. The only exceptions to the coverage are when it comes to replacing glass, tires, and wheels, which is pretty standard for most warranties.

The bumper-to-bumper warranty also covers regular service. There is one catch, though—repairs must be done at a certified dealership close to the original delivery area.

After scouring through the Rolls-Royce warranty plan, the one thing that is lacking is a distinct powertrain coverage. However, one of the most interesting and beneficial things about the warranty is the Rolls-Royce Condition Based Servicing. Rolls-Royces come with sensors that automatically detect and monitor important features of the vehicle. The sensor can alert the driver of any issues or malfunctions with the engine oil, brake pads, and filters. It then sends that information back to the dealership so you can schedule a repair.

Additional Coverage

The Rolls-Royce factory warranty coverage also comes with a high-quality roadside assistance plan. The four-year, unlimited mile coverage won’t leave you stranded on the side of the road in your luxury ride. Instead, it helps if you ever need a jumpstart, require fuel, have a flat tire, get stuck in mud or snow, or need a lift if the Rolls-Royce breaks down.

There is another great benefit to the Rolls-Royce warranty as well. It kicks in if the Rolls-Royce fails due to mechanical reasons. However, there is a catch—the vehicle must be within 100 miles of your home. If not, you’re out of luck and may need to call another tow service or pay a higher price. If so, you are eligible for trip interruption service. It will provide you with meals, lodging, a car rental, and or alternative transportation to your destination or the garage.

What We Like

Rolls-Royces are highly luxurious vehicles built for business and comfort. There is a lot to like about the company’s warranty plan with the main benefit being its bumper-to-bumper coverage. The four-year coverage lasts longer than other high-quality luxury car manufacturers such as Bentley or Aston Martin, so you know you’re getting a great deal on top of the unlimited mileage plan.

The other excellent thing we like about the Rolls-Royce warranty are the sensors that come in the vehicle. They act like your personal British butler and alert you and a service center when something is going wrong with the Rolls-Royce. If there is any malfunction with your Rolls-Royce, the sensors turn on and send a message to both the vehicle and a certified garage so you can set up an appointment to schedule a repair.

It’s all the little things that make the Rolls-Royce warranty stand out from other competitors.

What We Don’t Like

You may have noticed the one thing that is missing from the Rolls-Royce warranty that basically every other sports and luxury car manufacturer offers is a powertrain coverage. While the warranty will cover parts that break down due to mechanical failure, nowhere in the coverage does it mention the engine, transmission, or anything major under the hood.

Now, that may be due to excellent British engineering, but it would really make a difference if the powertrain was added to the factory warranty. If you are looking for complete powertrain coverage, you can find it but only under the Rolls-Royce CPO warranty. Even still, that only covers the drivetrain for 24 months.

However, even that plan isn’t all-encompassing. It excludes items like CV joints, oil filters, air filters, and other fluids. Plus, all of the repairs must be done by certified dealers at authorized dealerships. That really makes the warranty a bit lackluster.

FAQs

The majority of Rolls-Royce’s are found in Europe, so any spotted in the United States are costly and imported. You may be curious about a few things before or after you buy your luxury British car and we’re here to help you out. Understanding your Rolls-Royce and its factory warranty will help you out in the long run.

Q. Can I import a Rolls-Royce to the United States with warranty coverage?

A. You certainly can have your Rolls-Royce shipped to the U.S. and have it be covered by the factory warranty. The regional warranty kicks in to the area you have it shipped to, so it lasts the entire four years and unlimited miles.

Q. How much does a Rolls-Royce cost to maintain?

A. You will be paying a large amount of cash to ensure your Rolls-Royce runs smoothly over the years. Since it is considered the royalty of the vehicle world, you may end up paying up to $650 for an oil change. Plus, annual maintenance is estimated to cost around $3,900.

Q. Are Rolls-Royces reliable?

A. They are considered one of the most reliable vehicles in the world. However, that doesn't mean they can’t break down. They also include BMW engines which makes them as reliable as a BMW 7 series.

Is Rolls-Royce’s Warranty Worth It?

The Rolls-Royce factory warranty may be better than other competing luxury car makers but it is lacking in some areas. Its four-year, unlimited mileage coverage is tough to beat when it comes to brands like Bentley and Aston Martin but its exclusion of powertrain coverage is not very good. However, its automatic sensors, bumper-to-bumper coverage, and roadside assistance outweigh the bad.
