The 2018 Subaru Impreza Will Start at $18,495
It may be $100 over the previous year’s MSRP, but it’s packed with enough tech that you probably won’t care.
Subaru's Impreza sedan and hatchback have been a staple of the brand forever, and the car gets some much-needed upgrades for the 2018 model year. Subaru has already silenced complaints about shoddy interior quality from the past with the 2018 model, and now it's releasing more details before the Impreza hits dealerships this fall.
Subaru's finally addressing most of the issues people have with its cars to put the Impreza back on top of the affordable sports sedan (and hatchback) segment. The biggest change for the 2018 Impreza is the adoption of the new Subaru Global Platform, which promises to improve ride quality and handling.
As is standard with Subarus, the new Impreza has 4 trim levels: Base, Premium, Sport, and Limited, all of which are equipped with Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. An Impreza 2.0i Base starts at $18,495 and the top-shelf, fully-loaded 5-door Impreza 2.0i Limited will run you over $26,000. The 2.0-liter Boxer engine gets a power bump to 152 horsepower and those not keen on manual can get a "7-speed" Lineatronic CVT.
The Base model gets a host of standard equipment including Android Auto/Apple CarPlay and a larger infotainment display, as well as power locks, seats, doors, and mirrors.
For under $3000 more, the Impreza Premium comes jam-packed with features like larger alloy wheels, roof rails (for 5-door models), and SUBARU STARLINK, plus options for heated seats/mirrors, driver assist systems, or a moonroof.
Enthusiasts will like the Impreza Sport, which features STI-like characteristics including a short-throw shifter, sport-tuned suspension, and 18-inch wheels. The 2018 Impreza Sport starts at $22,095 and is a good buy for people who can't wait for the WRX and WRX STI to get the Impreza's new features.
The top-tier Impreza Limited gets leather seating, automatic climate control, premium audio, keyless entry, and EyeSight safety systems. The Limited starts at $24,195, probably your best bet for experiencing Subaru's promised interior improvements.
