Getting into a head-on collision—or something close to it—is one of the more terrifying things that can happen to a driver. Hopefully, it will never happen to you—and this violent dashcam video of a Subaru Impreza WRX getting involved in a near-head-on collision with an out-of-control Nissan is as close as you'll ever get.

According to reports, the WRX was traveling at around 62 miles per hour on the Pacific Highway in Tyndale, New South Wales when the Nissan side-swiped an oncoming car and lost control, subsequently smashing into the WRX. The video cuts out on impact, but the rate at which the Nissan was approaching makes it safe to say the damage was likely going to be significant and fatalities were a possibility.

Luckily, the Subaru's occupants were not killed

When the dash cam footage ends, additional images of the damage show severe damage to the WRX, as well as how lucky the driver and his wife were. If the Nissan had collided with the WRX just a foot over, all occupants would most likely be dead.

Needless to say, the WRX is a total loss; luckily, the occupants escaped with their lives. The Australian police have reportedly charged the Nissan driver but have not yet disclosed the charges.
