Naked Florida Man Dies After Jumping on Cars and Halting Highway Traffic
Police say it’s possible the man was under the influence of drugs.
A man in Florida died from injuries following a spree of running around and jumping on cars on an active highway early Wednesday morning, reports said.
Local news station Fox 13 in Tampa reported that Dale Mabry Highway in Tampa had to be shut down so police could deal with the naked man and what turned out to be a gruesome scene.
The Tampa Police Department said that when officers responded to the call at 5:56 a.m, they found the man running around and smashing his head against the windshield of cars, local news station CBS 10 News reported. The man apparently hit the windshield of a car so hard that it broke and left his head bleeding.
As the broadcasters described it, 10 police cars responded, there was blood in the street, and at least one car has bloody hand prints on it. The man, who has yet not been identified, was taken to a hospital, where he died.
Police said it's possible the man was under the influence of drugs, but the incident is still under investigation, CBS 10 News reported.
