In spite of what you might think, the phrase "to go pound sand" is a completely innocent saying—at least, according to Urban Dictionary. (And the folks there can make anything obscene.) So there's nothing impolite about saying "Watch the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor Pound Sand." At least, not unless you're particularly sympathetic to sand molecules.

Ford claims it released this video of the new F-150 Raptor kicking silicate butt as a way to show off the hearty suspension on the second-generation off-road monster. Like the original Raptor, the 2017 model packs beefy Fox shocks, but the latest versions have grown from 2.5 to 3 inches in diameter, giving them 44 percent more volume—which helps them better dissipate heat and reduces fade. The shocks' internal bypass is designed to provide greater on-road comfort and better off-road impact absorption by offering nine increasingly robust zones. And total suspension travel has been increased by around 15 percent, front and rear.

But let's face it, Ford. If you just wanted to highlight that the 2017 F-150 Raptor has new and improved Fox shocks, it could have dropped the automotive media a note in our collective inboxes and been done with it. But then we, in turn, would have largely glanced over it, semi-sarcastically said something along the lines of, "Oh, wow, the new Ford Raptor's shocks are bigger than the previous ones," and mentally filed away that piece of information until we were about to review the truck.

This way, on the other hand, we write up a story. And people will watch your video, and become even more excited about the new Raptor in advance of its upcoming debut this fall.
