Artist Delivers Illustrated Movie Quote Every Day for One Year
Ian Simmons said he’d create an original work daily. American muscle, DeLoreans, choppers, F-15s, and general awesomeness inside.

Last spring, Ian Simmons made a pledge. On the occasion of his Reddit Cake Day, the artist announced an ambitious 365 project: Create an original illustration from a famous movie quote every day for one entire year. Dude delivered. And the results are glorious.
Simmons is based in the coastal city of Swansea, Wales. He’s a songwriter, touring and session musician, and a lecturer at Neath Port Talbot College for Photoshop and graphic design classes. Lucky students. The man’s portfolio is impressive, but this project goes above and beyond. Simmons says the movie quote idea came from his brother, a creative challenge of sorts. He kicked off the whole deal with Fight Club ("I want you to hit me as hard as you can…"), then started taking suggestions on social media. In the coming months, Simmons tackled everything from Braveheart and Star Wars to Aladdin and The Big Lebowski.
Naturally, more than a few of the designs included cars, helicopters, motorcycles, airplanes, and other relevant themes. Check out a sampling below; a comprehensive gallery is hosted on Imgur here. See one you like? Good news: Simmons is now selling prints at his Etsy store.
