Drone Used To Help Rescue Stranded Fisherman
Drones are becoming more and more popular in the emergency services.

Fishing in Guangyuan City, Sichuan Province of China apparently can get pretty hairy at times. In the video below you can see a raging river whipping around to stranded anglers. It is unclear how the anglers got stranded or whether or not a dam was bled to cause such rapid waters.
Whatever the case may be, a Guangyuan City rescue team employed a drone to initiate rescue efforts. As you can see, it would be extremely dangerous to extract the stranded anglers without the initial use of a life-saving flotation device. Fortunately, a drone was able to safely reach the anglers and give them a flotation ring to wrap around their bodies before an inflatable boat came to extract them.
The Drone had the ring tied tightly to a rope which each angler untied. Once the ring was around each angler, the rescue boat came to their assistance. Drones have been used more and more in emergency situations to either expedite a recovery/rescue or to do tasks that are otherwise too dangerous for humans. Several months back a drone was used to find missing hikers and now drones may start carrying AEDs to medical emergencies.
