This week in design, we take a look at a novel way to keep trick-or-treaters safe. Collaborating with a Swedish startup and a London-based creative agency, Volvo developed a non-toxic reflective spraypaint, called Lifepaint. This isn’t you’re garden-variety Halloween silly string. The spray consists of reflective particles that adhere to the surface of anything from a bike to a skeleton costume. During the day, the paint is totally invisible, but once the user is near the bright lights of a roadway, the product really shines – pun very much intended.
