HIGHLIGHTS
Tony started his career at a local newspaper covering high school sports and began covering the automotive industry about 10 years ago. He was a part of Recurrent’s automotive team from 2020 to 2022.
- Owner of a 1970 Opel GT Project and Chicago Bulls fanatic
- Journalism degree from University of Missouri
- Written for Car and Driver, Complex, and Jordan Brand
EXPERIENCE
Back in 2011, Tony finished up school in Missouri and shipped off to be a sports intern at Complex Media, where he was able to interview some of the top athletes in the world, including those in action sports and motorsports. When he had the opportunity to run the website’s Rides section, he took control and hasn’t looked back. He’s since been an editor at Bold Ride (RIP), Autoblog, and Car and Driver, and has also contributed to Hagerty, RideApart, Forbes Wheels, and Internet Brands Automotive.
He haven’t owned a ton of cars, but he’s loved every single one. He started with a Saturn SC2 coupe with the flip-up headlights and learned to drive stick on an Acura Integra GS. He’s also owned a Honda Elite moped, a Suzuki SV650, and a V6 Chevrolet Camaro. His dad taught me everything I know in the garage, and he’s currently working on restoring a 1970 Opel GT with him.
EDUCATION
He attended the University of Missouri and majored in journalism, with an emphasis on magazine journalism. He was much more interested in my sociology classes, though, so he minored in that as well.
