Somebody Edited Jerry Seinfield Into “Fate of The Furious” and It’s Actually Good
The Porsche-loving comedian joins the blockbuster flick in a way you didn’t see coming.
"Fate of The Furious" released in theaters this past week, setting records and pushing the franchise on to another successful outing. Although we can't help but wonder how long they'll drag the stories out, they've proven to culminate a winning formula that keeps a cult following close by. The film was full of action and dramatic chases, but it was missing one thing—Jerry Seinfield.
We didn't notice that part. You probably didn't either. But the crew at Funny or Die definitely did. They recently debuted a parody trailer for the movie with clips of Seinfield's "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee" edited in, giving us a laugh that we really weren't expecting.
The juxtaposition of high-thrill scenes and Seinfield's leisurely attitude is perfectly offset. Even though cars are supposed to be the central focus of both series, you can't help but notice how different they are from one another. "Fate of The Furious" may have deviated from their original theme of street racing, they've kept the action and turned it to eleven. That may be why they keep making the series -- it's a simple recipe that gets the audience's attention no matter what.
Affectionately dubbed "Comedians in Cars Driving Fast & Furiously", Funny or Die hit the nail on the head with this one. Watch as the former sitcom star seems hilariously out of place, putting an entirely different twist on the film's plot. Don't you kind of wish it was like this in the first place?
