Automotive

Ford plans to invest $1.3 billion into its Kentucky truck plant, and nearly a quarter of the “new and secured” 8,500 jobs Ford has pledged to the UAW will go to the revamped Louisville factory. The facility will produce the redesigned super-duty series of trucks.

Porsche has outdone itself once again with the new Turbo and Turbo S. Packing 540hp and 580hp, these German rocketships have zero-to-60 times to make Ferraris shudder. The Drive team cannot wait to get its grubby mitts on these things.

The Ford Mustang dipped in sales this past November, with only 7,286 ponies trotting off lots. That said, the Mustang is still doing better than the Chevrolet Camaro and the Dodge Challenger.

Gear

Although the summer fishing season may be over, the hunt for good gear never stops. The Deeper Portable Fish Finder is a wireless sonar fish finder that links to your phone to provide fish location, water depth, temperature and a ton of other parameters.

Skiing and snowboarding too pricey this season? Consider investing in a solid pair of snowshoes. The folks over at Tubbs make terrain-conquering footwear that can handle whatever mother nature dishes out.

Lifestyle

Beer snob holiday-gift alert. Why not two pint glasses and a growler with your own custom design? Head on over to www.homewetbar.com and get cracking, Picasso.

The snow has finally begun to fall at our favorite mountains, and that means it is time to buy a ski pass. Rather than binding (see what we did there?) yourself to one mountain, we recommend you check out the Mountain Collective ski pass. Lots of mountains, little cash.
