This museum may be small, but it’s sure to please as you learn about the railroad’s rich history in Katy. The museum is housed in the restored Missouri-Kansas-Texas Depot and a bright red caboose. The depot was constructed in 1898 and operated as a passenger rail service until 1957. With the decline of the railroad, demolishment was planned in 1977. Thankfully it was saved and relocated. 

You can take a guided tour through the museum and see artifacts from the time. You’ll even get a glimpse at an old train engine. You’ll find the volunteers to be knowledgeable and friendly. Enjoy some time outside on the beautifully landscaped grounds and take a seat on one of the benches.

Houston Art Car Parade
