A 2,100 Horsepower GT-R and 50%-Off Woolrich Shirts: The Evening Rush

The Evening Rush is your daily roundup of auto, gear, and lifestyle news, all in one place. Less time searching, more time driving. Motor on.

The BMW X7 SUV has been confirmed for 2018. The ultra-luxury SUV will compete with the Cadillac Escalade, the Volvo XC90 Excellence, the Land Rover Range Rover, and the Mercedes-Benz GLS. The interior seating arrangement will be very similar to the four seat orientation of the Volvo XC90 Excellence and pricing will start a little north of $100k.

If you are planning on speeding down Australia’s highways, be prepared to see a striped Lexus RC F close on your tail. Police in New South Wales will soon be using the 467hp RC Fs to chase those pesky speeders.

Wait, Godzilla's in Texas? Yep. Specifically, a 2,100+ horsepower Nissan GT-R capable of obliterating the quarter mile in 7.38 seconds. Tuners at T1 racing development have thus proven that not only is everything bigger in Texas, but it is also a hell of a lot faster. As they say, "Aaaaaaaaaah!"

Biking is one of the best workouts you can get during the warmer months, but many of us live in areas where the trails are either not ideal or nonexistent. In order to access “the good stuff,” we suggest you invest in a Thule T2 Pro 9034 bike rack and a trailer hitch. Remaining a safe distance from your car’s paint job while still keeping a low profile, the T2 is perfect for hauling your bike (or bikes) to the woods where they can roam free.

Have you ever wanted to the ability to breath underwater? The answer is obviously 'yes,' and now, you can. The Triton Gills, with appropriate Neptunian reference, is a compact oxygen respirator that allows operators to breath underwater for 45 minutes at a depth of 15 feet. Pricing starts at $299, or infinitely cheaper than having actual gills installed.

Today’s beer pick takes us to Upslope Brewing Company in Boulder, Colorado. With small breweries, solidity across the board isn't a given. Some have one or two winners, but a flurry of duds. Fortunately, Upslope carries five year-round beers and plenty of seasonals, all worth cracking open. Since the brewery is based in Boulder, the brewery chose to package their beer exclusively in aluminum cans in order to ensure packability on any backcountry adventure.

When you think of the clothing company Woolrich, you usually think of thick, comfy flannels or jackets. However, Woolrich reaches far beyond cold weather gear and makes some pretty sweet short-sleeve button downs. The Route 99 Shirt is 53% off, except when I wear it, when it will be a full 100% off.
