The Nissan Z-car all started with the original 240Z, and the 240ZG is the ultimate variation of the iconic sports car. It’s been more than 40 years since the first Z, but the classic GT design, featuring a long hood and a short rear deck, still looks as fine as ever.

And apparently, it drives as well as ever too—the official NISMO TV YouTube channel shared onboard footage of its 1973 Fairlady 240ZG making a lap around Fuji Speedway:

While the old Z looked spirited in its demonstration lap around the track and still makes some sensational noises at full song, the pleasant walk down memory lane was brazenly interrupted by a swarm of Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 and GT-R GT500 that pass the Fairlady left and right.

The lap occurred during Nissan’s annual NISMO Festival at Fuji Speedway, held in December of last year, where the manufacturer brought many of its historic racecars to celebrate the company’s heritage in racing.
