Infiniti Shows off Signature Editions at Chicago Auto Show

This includes the 2017 Q50 sedan and QX80 SUV.

This is another example of special edition unveils at the Chicago Auto Show. Strangely enough, manufacturers have used this year's event as a stage to reveal unique trims of already existing models instead of new concepts. And that leaves us here, viewing Infiniti's newest Signature Edition Q50 and QX80.

Things start with the Q50 sedan. At first glance, their isn't much difference between the Signature Edition and the normal trim levels, but Infiniti says their definitely is. Aside from 17" alloy wheels, it's hard to tell. The real magic is inside where you're treated to a host of luxury features missing in other Q50s. Features like a tinted moonroof, navigation, voice activated controls, and 60/40 split rear seats make the cabin an especially comfy place to be with plenty of amenities to keep things modern.

The Q50 Signature Edition comes equipped with an under stressed 3.0L twin turbo V6 that pumps out 300 HP, ensuring a smooth ride around town with adaptive gear shift control that is linked to the navigation system. Pricing begins at $39,605, putting it near the middle of the Q50 range.

The QX80 Signature Edition returns for a second year in 2017. Essentially, the purpose of this jumbo-SUV is to put you in charge of the road. It's massive. Luckily enough for drivers around you, it features active safety equipment to keep you smashing into other people or things around you. The QX80 Signature Editions features backup collision intervention, blind spot warning, intelligent cruise control with full-speed range, forward emergency braking with pedestrian detection, predictive forward collision warning, blind spot intervention, and lane departure warning and prevention.

Interior comfort is right up there as well. Rich leather materials make the Signature Edition seem upscale with tasteful touches, making for a pleasant place to be. It can be fitted with either seven or eight seats, keeping you and all of your family comfy.

The QX80 is powered by a 5.6L V8 that produces 400 HP. You can have it in AWD or RWD, whichever fits you best. Color options include black, blue, gray, and white. Pricing is unannounced as of now, but will be released closer to May.
