From the factory, the [Subaru BRZ](<https://thestore.thedrive.com/>) comes packed with an uneventful 205-horsepower horizontally opposed four-cylinder motor. Aside from having the ability to make those smile-inducing, classic Subaru brap noises with an aftermarket exhaust attached, the engine does not do much for the rear-wheel-drive Japanese sports car. That's why some BRZs—like the one in the video below—end up having their power plants swapped for something a bit more violent.

A video uploaded to the [19Bozzy92](<https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCG38eNTt_GlasSyTYiCr7WQ>) YouTube page Tuesday shows a driver in a V8-powered [BRZ](<https://www.thedrive.com/new-cars/6471/the-2017-subaru-brz-has-new-styling-but-the-same-frustrating-power-deficiency>) exploring Monaco during the Top Marques 2017 car show last weekend. According to the video's description, Brill Steel Motorsport packed the car with a 6.2-liter, 580-horsepower LS3. Though it has a very aftermarket motor, a Rocket Bunny V1 body kit, and some new 19-inch wheels, the car's build was meant to be relatively stock, according to the video description.

It's definitely not the most stock [BRZ](<https://www.thedrive.com/new-cars/6471/the-2017-subaru-brz-has-new-styling-but-the-same-frustrating-power-deficiency>)-Toyota 86 we've seen—[that 800-hp quad-turbo 86](<https://www.thedrive.com/news/8887/this-toyota-86-packs-an-800-hp-quad-turbo-v-12>) comes to mind—but it is quite a ways from stock. Either way, it looks like a neat power-packed build. And sounds damn good too.
