Aston Martin Let Max Verstappen Loose in the New Vantage, and Many Tires Died
The new Vantage may be smaller, but boy is it angry.

When you want someone to beat the tires off your car, there are few more qualified people than Formula 1's Max Verstappen. No stranger to the sport, Max has proven both confident and competent behind the wheel. Knowing this, Aston Martin and Aston Martin Dynamics chief engineer Matt Becker recruited Verstappen to give some input about the driving experience so the carmaker coukd take their Vantage verification prototype to the next level.
At the point when this video was shot, the Aston Martin Vantage was still in the "adjustment phase" but the wheelbase and general design of the final product will remain the same. As you can tell right away, the new Vantage has a slightly shorter wheelbase, thus making it easy to whip around like an overpowered Miata (I mean that in a good way). According to Becker, the new Vantage packs approximately 500 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque. Both figures are nothing to laugh at—and from what the video shows, that'll be more than enough to get Aston Martin drivers somewhere in a hurry. Or sideways.
Towards the end of the video, Max Verstappen says the vehicle is definitely at home on the track...an observation we are not surprised to hear but glad to hear it none the less.
