The Chevy Truck With A Mopar Engine Under The Hood

And that may be what makes it so awesome.

Diehard Chevy, Ford and Mopar enthusiasts don’t agree on much but if there were one steadfast principle they all acknowledge it would be that there is absolutely no motor mixing allowed. Yearn to make an auto buff cringe? Cram a mismatched motor between the frame rails of a classic vehicle.

However, if it weren’t for motor mavericks willing to push the boundaries of automotive norms the classic vehicle landscape would be considerablly different - and boring. Imagine the world without LSx swaps!

George Smith, Owner of Forsyth County Customs in Alpharetta, GA has always loved Mopars as he grew up around his dad’s 1968 Plymouth GTX. This passion for all things Chrysler/Plymouth/Dodge spills over into the majority of the builds at Forsyth County Customs – even those with bowties and ovals on the grilles.

Doesn't look that out of place, does it?, Evan Yates

The objective for this 1969 Chevy C10 was to be a shop truck with the potential of possibly making a few passes down the drag strip. A big-block Mopar powerplant was always in the cards for this patina’d Chevrolet and thankfully due to the number of vehicles in the shop being upgraded with newer engines, there were plenty of spare parts to choose from including a Chrysler 440 big block.

As for the future of his Frankenstein parts runner, George plans on continually upgrading the truck with slicks out back and a 572 under the hood. Ultimately, he has high hopes of introducing his wife into drag racing via his misfit Mopar
