The people at VICE run a cool feature called First-Person Shooter, a photo series in which the outlet provides two disposable cameras to a layperson of interest and asks her to document one night in her life. Most recently, VICE gave a couple Kodaks to a man named Arthur, an illustrator living in LA who supplements his income by driving at night for Uber. That put him in contact with many a drunk. Surprisingly—and in sharp contradistinction to my own inebriated self—Arthur found that a person's level of "cheer" was inversely proportional to their desire to have their photo taken. Maybe some weren't ready for employers to know they moonlighted as Four Loko-swilling party beasts? Unclear. Still, the cameras were filled with wonderful, grainy slices of nightlife.
