Easter eggs, no matter how big or small, are ways for car designers and engineers to send hidden messages and jokes to their consumers, and Tesla happens to be a company that apparently takes great joy in doing that. Tesla CEO Elon Musk took to Twitter Friday to tease a launchpad for hidden easter eggs in the electric car company's models.

As far as we're aware, Teslas have [easter egg light shows](<https://www.businessinsider.com/tesla-christmas-light-show-easter-egg-2016-12>), secret rainbow charging port lighting, a hidden [rainbow road screen](<https://www.thedrive.com/tech/2990/teslas-latest-easter-egg-hits-the-rainbow-road>) for use when Autopilot is engaged, and even a [*Spaceballs* reference](<https://www.businessinsider.com/tesla-car-easter-eggs-2016-5/#if-youve-been-searching-for-the-meaning-of-life-your-tesla-has-an-answer-4>) in the depths of its infotainment screen, among other things. Oh, and most recently, Musk hinted that there's a[ new doodle screen](<https://www.thedrive.com/news/8903/new-tesla-easter-egg-lets-you-doodle-on-center-touch-screen>) that can be used *if* Tesla owners can find it.

It's unclear if this future easter egg launchpad will be able to activate all of the car's software easter eggs.

This launchpad idea is cool, but doesn't it take some of the fun out of an easter egg? After all, half of the excitement is actually uncovering the secret tricks.
