# What’s The Craziest Thing You’ve Ever Read In A Car’s Instruction Manual?

I've just read the instruction manual for the 2017 Mercedes E-Class. It's an epic document, over 400 pages, and I'm glad I did. I'd never read a car manual before. I learned so much, I read it twice. Tonight, I might even read it again. Why? Because as I write the follow up to the [most controversial article of my career](<https://www.thedrive.com/tech/4591/the-war-for-autonomous-driving-2017-mercedes-benz-e-class-vs-2017-tesla-model-s>), I want to make sure I get everything right. Now, as I sit down to go over it a third time, I actually have more questions than when I started. There's...a lot going on here.
