Registration is now open for the Drive Toward a Cure's 2018 "California Adventure." This will be the third event that the charitable organization hosts to raise money for Parkinson's Disease research and patient care. The multi-day luxury drive raised more than $50,000 last year and will return to California in Spring 2018. The 2nd annual California Adventure is scheduled to take place from May 3-6, 2018. Drive Toward a Cure reports that simultaneous drives from the Monterey region and Southern California will come together at the famed Alisal Guest Ranch and Resort in Santa Barbara wine country.

Drive Toward a Cure

Deb Pollack, the founder of Drive Toward a Cure, says: "My personal goal is to keep growing our organization and its widespread reach until we can find that cure for Parkinson’s."

The 2018 program includes a four-day/three-night trip that combines camaraderie and cars in a country-style setting. For the past 70 years, Alisal Ranch has been known for its luxurious relaxation, working ranch experiences and scenic atmosphere. Many celebrities, as well as those merely seeking a peaceful getaway, have enjoyed what Alisal has to offer. The charitable event will see vehicles ranging from luxury and exotics to vintage cars and daily drivers. This event will have drivers see some of the most well-known back roads this country has to boast. The drive itself will be pleasantly interrupted by stops at private motoring collections that have rarely ever been seen by the public.

Ms. Pollack has been in the car industry for a number of decades and has been fortunate to experience the joys of building memories on the road. She has been involved in teaming cars and people to support Parkinson's for the last 10 years, after losing her mother to the disease in 2006. “For me, there continues to be nothing more gratifying than reaping the rewards of these connections to support those that are challenged," she says.

According to Deb Pollack, the organization has already established a reputation for creating events that are considered above and beyond the usual rally.

“We wanted to build a meaningful movement that included passionate enthusiasts taking on a journey of roads less traveled - yet contributing to a cause for which we hope a cure will eventually be found," she explained. "Our goal is to build awareness and help fund the research that will find that cure faster."

Drive Toward a Cure

Deb Pollack's vision is to "create a groundswell within the automotive family and engage them in exciting programs in which they’d enjoy partaking." What better way to raise funds for a great cause than to do so with people taking part in what they enjoy most, driving?

The 2018 California Adventure will explore some of the nation's most breathtaking topography and will include a timed “special stage” driving test. Driving may be the main idea, but there will be plenty of time scheduled for stopping and smelling the roses, so to speak. Alisal's unique setting is one that must be experienced for oneself to really believe and appreciate. The amenities and setting tie together for an event that will forever be remembered. Participants of the rally will choose between a morning hayride or horseback riding to transport them to the daily outdoor gatherings.
