Jaguar is taking advantage of your XE, XF, and F-Pace models' infotainment system to add in some convenience to your daily routine. The new app allows you to pay for your Shell gasoline through a simple and intuitive display without leaving your car. This method allows for multiple forms of cashless payment including credit card, PayPal, Apple Pay, and eventually Android Pay. It's a painless system unique to Jaguar and Shell customers that's coming to the U.S. later this year.

The process is as easy as it sounds. Simply pull up to the pump, put in as little or as much fuel as you want, then hop back into your Jaaaaaaag to finish things up. It'll promptly display a receipt to keep track of your transaction. The automaker says that this will especially come in handy when you've forgotten your wallet or purse in the back seat of your car with tons of cargo or sleepy kids, saving you the trouble of digging through to find your money. Payment information is simply stored into your Jaguar's computer, making it easily accessible all of the time.

This is part of a grander scheme that Jaguar plans to institute into future models. Using similar technology, they plan to make it available for all types of situations. “Whether it’s paying for fuel, parking, tolls, or even at a drive-through restaurant, the aim of cashless motoring is to make life easier for our customers,” said Peter Virk, director of Connected Car and Future Technology for Jaguar Land Rover. This would be useful in a load of situations that can connect the bridge between urban and rural Jaguar owners. By diversifying the equipment, Jaguar owners of all kinds will be able to use it effectively.

As of now, the app is available for U.K. market Jaguar customers. It's coming later in the year to the United States, though we're not sure exactly when. Expect it to find its way into several 2018 model XE, XF, and F-Paces.
