The Mazda MX-5 Miata is getting a host of new upgrades for the 2018 model year, according to a press release issued Wednesday. With three distinct trim levels and two available performance packages, there's a Miata for everyone.

For starters, the 2018 Miata's power steering and suspension have been tinkered with to make it more agile and muffle more cabin noise.

Mazda is getting festive for the holidays, flaunting the 2018 MX-5's newly available Dark Cherry soft top roof. There's also a new interior option for Auburn trim and Nappa Leather surfaces, which used to only be available on the MX-5 RF Launch Edition. Mazda's color palette continues to expand with new exterior paints– Soul Red Crystal, Machine Gray Metallic, Eternal Blue Mica, and Snowflake White Pearl Micra.

The base MX-5 Sport starts at $25,295, now coming standard with a 7-inch Mazda Connect infotainment system with Bluetooth phone pairing, HD radio, and Commander Control knobs. Despite being the base model, the new MX-5 Sport offers a premium experience with standard LED exterior lights, Advanced Keyless Entry, and a leather-wrapped shift knob.

Spend $29,155 for an MX-5 Club with a six-speed manual and you'll get a limited-slip differential, shock tower brace, and Bilstein shocks. The Club trim also comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, heated cloth seats, Blind Spot Monitoring, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and a nine-speaker BOSE premium audio system.

Two new packages are available for the manual MX-5 Club trim, the Brembo/BBS Package and the Brembo/BBS Recaro Package. The former adds heated black leather seats,17-inch BBS wheels, aerodynamic pieces on the sides and rear skirts, and upgraded Brembo brakes in the front. The RECARO package is essentially an upgraded Brembo/BBS package with Recaro sport seats instead of black leather ones.

The $30,195 MX-5 Grand Touring is optimized for comfort, adding automatic headlights, automated climate control, and heated leather seats. The GT trim also gets more sound-suppressing material in the cabin, rain-sensing wipers, auto-dimming mirrors, and Lane Departure Warning.

The 2018 MX-5 will start arriving in showrooms later this month and will be available everywhere by January.
