Next time you’re in New York looking for something to do, you should check out the Cadillac House. It’s a brand experience center. Basically, it’s a shrine to all things Cadillac which features curated programming and events across the arts, fashion, entertainment, and hospitality. The House offers a gallery, retail space, a café and an exhibition area for the brand’s vehicles.

The latest installation is an interactive exhibit based on the 1980s Japanese cult miniature 4WD model-making and racing competitions. The installation is called “Visionaire Racing” and was put together as a celebration of Cadillac Racing’s 2017 season. Individuals visiting the exhibit are invited to construct, create and compete with their own mini-4WD models against others on the East Coast’s largest mini-4WD racing track.

Visionaire was founded in 1991 by Cecilia Dean and James Kaliardos. The company conceptualizes and produces public art installations, films, experiences, branded content, all curated through the lens of art, fashion, and contemporary culture.

Earlier this week, Cadillac brought its 2017 IMSA Weathertech Sportscar Racing and 2017 Pirelli World Challenge SprintX championship driver Jordan Taylor along with several Cadillac execs to a unique event which pitted the guests against each other. Alongside the general public, the VIPs raced their mini-4WD cars against each other on the new Visionaire Racing mini racetrack.

The Visionaire Racing exhibit is open to the public for racing every day Nov. 16 to Jan. 15, 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays and until 5 p.m. weekends. Visitors can either bring their own mini-4WD cars, buy and build their own on-site, or rent cars to race and return. There will be qualifying competitions on Sundays with a grand finale showdown set for 1 p.m. January 7.

The Cadillac House is located at 330 Hudson St, New York, NY 10013. If you find yourself in SoHo looking for something automotive yet artsy enough to satisfy your non-gearhead friends, the Cadillac House may be worth the price of admission.
