Congratulations are in order for the Harley-Davidson Screamin’ Eagle/Vance & Hines team for clinching a victory in the NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle championship. Harley has won nine of the last 14 championships and this is the fourth championship for rider Eddie Krawiec. The winning motorcycle is a race bike based on the Harley-Davidson Street Rod 750 with which it doesn’t have all that much in common. Think NASCAR car compared to the production car it’s based on.

“This championship was won by the entire Harley-Davidson Screamin’ Eagle/Vance & Hines team,” said Krawiec of the victory in a press release. “We are a group of individuals who are never happy if we are not winning, and we come to work every day with that goal in mind. It’s so hard to win just one Countdown race against this very competitive field, and to win four of five is just amazing. This is a very gratifying championship.”

The “Countdown race” Krawiec was referring to was the NHRA Mello Yello Countdown to the Championship playoff races. It was a bit of a blowout for the Harley-Davidson Screamin’ Eagle/Vance & Hines team with its own Andrew Hines coming in second place in points and LE Tonglet of the Suzuki Nitro Fish Racing team in third almost 200 points behind Krawiec. Krawiec won four of the first five races in the series countdown to take the lead.

Here’s hoping Harley’s racing victory can help them sell more motorcycles. They could use a little help.
