If you sleep on a giant pile of cash and are looking to add something really special to your car collection (Floyd Mayweather, we're looking at you), the rare unraced 1994 Ferrari 333 SP could be the car for you. RM Sotheby's is auctioning the car off on September 9, 2017, and expects it to go for between $3.3 to $4 million.

If you are not familiar with the 333 SP, here is a little history on one of Ferrari's most successful race cars. Ferrari had been out of the sports car racing scene since the early 1970s and was ready to jump back in. Ferrari worked with Dallara and Michelotto to design and build the chassis. Ferrari dropped their Formula One/F50 V12 engine in the back.

The 333 SP first raced at Road Atlanta in 1994 in the IMSA GT Championship. Three different teams ran a total of four cars. The 333 SP took pole for the race and scored a one-two finish on debut.

Having missed the first two events of the 1994 season, the 24 Hours of Daytona and the 12 Hours of Sebring, Ferrari didn't score enough points to win the constructor's that year. But it did in 1995 and again in 1998. The car also helped take the driver's title in 1995 and a team championship in 1998. The Ferrari 333 SP also secured the 2001 constructor's title in the FIA Sportscar Championship. There, the car also won the team and driver's titles from 1998 to 2001.

All in all, the Ferrari 333 SP won 56 of the 144 races it entered. It also secured 69 pole positions. Oddly, the Ferrari 333 SP never could come to terms with Le Mans. It's best

finish in the 24-hour race was sixth place.

A total of 40 cars were built and almost all of them were raced. But not chassis number 6, which makes it a unicorn amongst unicorns.

According to the listing, the car was for a customer who was "unable to fulfill the order". The car was sold in 1995 and has changed hand only a few times since. It was never raced, only displayed for periods of time under various owners. In 2016 Ferrari 333 SP No. 6 was sent back to Michelotto for a full restoration. It has been since tested at Fiorano and according to Sotheby's has only clocked one hour of engine running time.

Included in the sale is a spare set of wheels, "Ferrari Classiche certification, basic spares package and period DOS laptop with all relevant software and cables." Yes, you read that right, it comes with a DOS laptop from 1994. Even today's worst smartphones will outperform that laptop, but that is what is needed to make this car go.

This Ferrari 333 SP is far from street legal so you won't be getting any groceries with it. But you'll most certainly dominate your local autocross with it. For $4 million, parking lot glory is your's for the taking.
