Michale Kors, Nike, Brooks Brothers, Columbia Sportswear, Saks Fifth Avenue, Coach, and so many more stores guarantee that this shopping venue has something for everyone.

The home itself contains a treasure trove of fine antiques and furnishings. You can even peruse “The Death of a Confederate,” a collection of the family’s letters from the Civil War period.

Events and Entertainment in Woodstock

Taste of Woodstock

Since Georgia boasts balmy temps most of the year, April is the perfect time to host the much-anticipated Taste of Woodstock. This delicious event takes place at the Elm Street Cultural Arts Village at their outdoor space called “Event Green.”  All proceeds from the event go to benefit a local charity, like the Woodstock High School Band Program.

It’s the perfect opportunity to sample all the best and freshest foods that proud Woodstock area chefs have to offer. Admission is free, but you buy tickets that you then exchange for tastes. Each taste is priced between one and eight tickets.

Make sure you vote for your favorite taste as chefs vie for the coveted People’s Choice Award. Come hungry and leave happy, knowing you helped a good cause.

Summer Concert Series

The Woodstock Summer Concert Series is one of the city’s (and even the region’s) best events. One Friday of each month from May through October, you can catch a live show at the Northside Hospital-Cherokee Amphitheater. See nationally renowned artists like Christopher Cross, the Steep Canyon Rangers, and more.

You can also catch talented artists doing covers of your favorite songs from acts such as Queen, Tom Petty, and Fleetwood Mac. The best part? This is a free event!

Opening acts begin at 7:30 p.m. and headliners play at 8:30, rain or shine. There are plenty of local food and beverage vendors onsite if you get a hankering for some yummy grub. There’s also a fun children’s area with face painting, inflatables, and balloon animals.

Farm Fresh Market

Every Saturday from April through December, you can find the area’s freshest produce at the Farm Fresh Market. The Market is located, aptly enough, on Market Street in Reformation Brewery’s backyard in Downtown Woodstock. It runs from 8:30 a.m. to noon.

This bustling market offers a ton of the area’s freshest fruits and vegetables. You’ll also find honey, jams, jellies, preserves, specialty meats and cheeses, free-range eggs, hot sauces and salsas, baked goods, coffees, spices and rubs, and much more. You can do all your grocery shopping for the entire week here.

As if all that weren’t reasons enough to visit the market, they also host fun and interactive events, like cooking demonstrations, as well as live music and entertainment. It’s definitely a party atmosphere.

WDSTK Sip + Shop

The Sip + Shop series happens seasonally in Downtown Woodstock. It’s a great community effort that encourages attendees to shop locally. They usually have a spring event, a back to school event, and a holiday event that you can attend.

Many of the town’s merchants serve light snacks and festive beverages as you peruse all the amazing and unique offerings of the downtown shops. There are also plenty of ticket holder specials and deals.

Start at the Woodstock Visitors Center, where you pick up your tote bag and directory of participating merchants. You can also register for some pretty cool raffle prizes while you’re there. It’s a really fun and different way to support small and local businesses.

Scarecrow Invasion

The Woodstock Scarecrow Invasion happens downtown throughout the entire month of October. With more than 150 scarecrows on display, it’s one of the biggest events of its kind in the country. Not only do the scarecrows give a whimsical and festive feel to the town as fall is in full swing, but they also serve as a focal point for a fun scavenger hunt.

The public is encouraged to vote for their favorite scarecrow. Votes are $1 each, with all the proceeds going to INSeason. INSeason is Downtown Woodstock’s design and beautification initiative. They use that money to put back into the upkeep, landscaping, and holiday decorating of their beloved downtown area.

It’s fun to see how each business dresses and designs their scarecrows. You’ll love sipping on a festive cocktail or cold locally crafted beer as you meander around town trying to see them all.
