But what makes this celebration stand out is the setting. Helen is a mountain town that’s nestled into the northeast Georgia woods. All of the buildings downtown have a Bavarian-style to them. If you didn’t know better, you’d think you stumbled into a traditional German town. 

During the festivities, revelers will dress in traditional attire for dances, parades, and just celebrating. You can find traditional German food, delicious beer, and live music. Be sure to get there for the start of the event for the Festhalle, or the ceremonial tapping of the keg. 

Little 5 Points Halloween Festival & Parade

Halloween is a big deal for some people, and if it is for you, then you need to make a trip to Atlanta for its Halloween festival. It’s one of the top 10 Halloween celebrations in the country. More than 35,000 people gather for this festival and parade as either a spectator or a participant. 

Even if you don’t want to dress up, it’s worth going to see the wide array of costumes. Almost anything goes at this event, so you’re sure to see some of the most elaborate and impressive costumes. 

You’ll enjoy your time at this event, as it has more than just a parade. There are food vendors, live music, and an artisan market. Plus, many of the stores and restaurants in the area stay open late to join in the fun. 

Virginia Highland Summerfest

Don’t be confused by the name; this event takes place in Atlanta at the corner of Virginia Avenue and North Highland Avenue. The festival features several stages and vendor booths. This event has taken place for the last 30 years and has grown into a large festival that artists from all over the southeast travel to. 

Take a stroll through the wide variety of booths and see handmade jewelry, garden art, crafts, fine art, and clothing. You’ll also find personal care items like lotions, soaps, and candles. There are also plenty of food vendors to satisfy any craving.

Campgrounds and Parks in Georgia

Coastal GA RV Resort

This campground is located in the hotspot for fishing enthusiasts. Coastal was once considered the shrimp capital of the world. Today, most visitors are more interested in deep sea, offshore, inshore, and Gulf Stream fishing. 

This campground is one of the newer resorts in the state. This means you can enjoy modern facilities that are clean and well-cared-for. There are also wide paved roads throughout the resort.
