Acura, like most auto manufacturers, [wants to go fully electric](<https://www.thedrive.com/tech/43397/acura-will-skip-hybrids-and-jump-straight-into-making-evs>) sometime in the near future. For the Japanese company that target year is 2040, and now we have an idea of what its upcoming EVs could look like. A new teaser released Thursday previews the Acura Precision EV Concept, which will be fully unveiled on Aug. 18 at [Monterey Car Week](<https://www.thedrive.com/news/40401/monterey-car-week-looks-like-its-on-this-summer-as-the-quail-sets-a-date>).

***Correction 8/11/22 12:50 pm:** A previous version of this post claimed the Precision EV previewed a future version of an electric SUV built by Honda/Acura and GM. Acura has clarified to* The Drive *that this is not the case. The necessary corrections have been made to reflect the most accurate information. We regret our mistake.*

The Precision EV, seen briefly with an LED-emblazoned grille in the teaser video below, gives us an idea of the design language to be featured in upcoming EVs from the brand—specifically crossovers and SUVs. We already know what Honda and GM's full-size electric SUV, the [2024 Prologue](<https://www.thedrive.com/news/2024-honda-prologue-the-gm-ev-collab-will-look-like-this>), will look like, but this is Acura's own take on its electric future.

The Prologue carried forward pleasing design elements of [Honda's newest Civic](<https://www.thedrive.com/new-cars/43138/2022-honda-civic-si-first-drive-review-still-the-cheap-fun-champ>) and Accord models. The Acura Precision Concept, if the teaser is any indication, appears to bear the visual lineage of the [Integra](<https://www.thedrive.com/reviews/2023-acura-integra-first-drive-review-a-civic-si-for-grown-ups>) and [MDX](<https://www.thedrive.com/new-cars/38888/2022-acura-mdx-review-an-suv-staple-fights-off-a-mid-life-crisis-with-great-tech-and-performance>) with its five-point diamond grille shape and angled headlights.

Not much more is known about this concept at the moment, but expect more details to come forward at its reveal next week.
