You're looking to coast through this week, pretending to work, so you can hurry off to the holidays. If that's the case, then boy do I have a time-waster for you. Well, I don't have it, Lexus does. [The 2024 Lexus GX online configurator is now live]() and you can customize the luxury off-roader of your dreams. As we now know, the sharp new GX starts at $64,250. That's right in line with its main competitor, the[ Land Rover Defender]() (the four-door Defender 110 starts at $62,075). Included in that entry-level price are three rows of seats and a twin-turbocharged 3.4-liter V6 with 349 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque. For reference, the Defender 110 comes with only five seats (an optional third row costs $3,800) and a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine making 296 horsepower. ![]() **Lexus** Typical of Lexus, the GX is offered in some excellent colors, too. The base model gets options like Nori Green Pearl and Nightfall Mica. If you step up to the top-spec Overland+ ($78,100), you can choose Nori Green Pearl with Black Onyx trim and a very cool sand color, called Earth with Black Onyx accents. Lexus knows its customers live active lifestyles—or at least they pretend they do on Instagram—so there are tons of rugged accessories available. You can add Pelican cases, electric coolers and ice chests, and ARB Tred Pro recovery tracks to your order list. So whether you actually are an outdoorsy type or you just play one on social media, Lexus has you covered. ![]() **Lexus** ![]() **Lexus** Toyota hasn't confirmed full pricing for the [2024 Land Cruiser]()—which the GX is closely related to—but it's said to start in the mid-$50,000 range. That would make the GX about $10,000 more expensive. Will the Lexus be worth the extra money or is that too mighty a price to pay for a badge and a nicer interior?
