Welcome to the future. On Friday, leading into Monterey Car Week at Pebble Beach the Lamborghini Revuelto SV debuted with more power, more high-voltage energy, new aero, and a new GT3-derived driving mode. Yes, there's a wing, and no you probably can't buy one because only 1,963 units are being made–a tribute to the year Lamborghini was founded–and surely you didn't place an order already. ![Lamborghini Revuelto SV]() **Lamborghini** The Revuelto sits atop Lamborghini's current lineup with a plug-in hybrid V12 powertrain. The SV model takes the "basic" model's powertrain and adds both power and energy. Total system output is up 50 horsepower for a total of 1,050 hp and system torque is up 18 lb-ft for a whopping 1,051 lb-ft. But the power increase isn't from the gas-fed 6.5-liter V12 engine. No, it's from the plug-in hybrid powertrain's high-voltage battery that basically doubles its output by adding 3.8 kWh for a total of 7.3 kWh. But the battery didn't actually get physically larger, it's just more energy dense. The extra juice increases the electric motor's output by 190 kW and enables 4 laps worth of electric juice around Hockenheimring. The extra power shaves 0.1 seconds off the standard Revuelto's 0-60 mph time with the SV only taking 2.4 seconds to complete the sprint. Lamborghini said the Revuelto SV's top speed is over 214 mph, but did not disclose a firm number. ![Lamborghini Revuelto SV]() **Lamborghini* *Lamborghini** But the "super fast" Lamborghini is not supposed to be a numbers car despite the four-figure horsepower rating. SV models are about handling and dynamic upgrades that enhance the driving experience. To that end Lamborghini's swapped in what it calls "racing-inspired" adjustable passive dampers, a set of next-generation carbon ceramic brakes all paired with model-specific Bridgestone Potenza Race R tires. The result of these upgrades is 23% better heat dissipation and 12% lower brake disc temperatures, 10% more lateral grip from the dampers alone, and 13% more overall grip with 5% better traction thanks to the tires at full throttle compared to the standard Revuelto. Lamborghini President and CEO Stephan Winkelmann said, “With the Revuelto SV, we’re further refining the already high-performance and razor-sharp Revuelto, offering drivers an even more intense driving experience. The Revuelto SV embodies exclusivity, technical perfection, and pure driving pleasure. This makes it a pure driving machine and the essence of our Lamborghini DNA." Though, it's the new Pilota driving mode that drivers should really be taking note of. Lamborghini said it was developed for "genuine fun to drive" characteristics. Pilota will remap the ABS, traction control, and stability control systems and is said to deliver reduced braking distances, better corner braking, better balance and increased sharpness, and increase performance with curbs and jumps. The wedge-shaped car's angles and creases are extended, sharper, cut deeper, are outlined in red paint, and are capped with a fixed rear wing. Sport seats with carbon shells will be standard but monocoque carbon fiber race seats will be on what is sure to be a laundry list of options.
