# 12 High-End Sports Cars Impounded for “Stunt Driving” in Canada

Police in Ontario impounded a dozen cars and charged their drivers on Sunday for the reckless driving behaviors known locally as "stunt driving."

[Sergeant Kerry Schmidt of the Ontario Provincial Police stated on Twitter](<https://twitter.com/OPP_HSD>) that the vehicles impounded included models made by Porsche, Lamborghini, Rolls-Royce, Mercedes-Benz, and BMW. A second tweet including pictures from the scene shows a 996-generation Porsche 911 GT3, a Lamborghini Huracan, a BMW M3, a Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG, and a Nissan GT-R.

The drivers' licenses will be revoked for seven days, according to Sgt. Schmidt, and their vehicles will be impounded for a week as well.

"If you want to have that kind of driving experience, take it to the track," [Sgt. Schmidt told *CBC News*](<https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/lamborghini-porsche-among-haul-of-luxury-vehicles-impounded-for-alleged-stunt-driving-on-highway-400-1.4052081>).

Police said they received reports of the vehicles driving aggressively along Highway 400 in Barrie, Ontario, roughly 65 miles north of Toronto.

Ontario possesses some of the strictest anti-speeding laws in North America. Anyone convicted of "stunt driving"—which, among other things, includes driving at speeds of 31 miles per hour over the speed limit—[can face fines of between $2,000–$1,000 Canadian and up to six months in jail and a two-year license suspension](<https://www.mto.gov.on.ca/english/dandv/driver/handbook/section2.10.1.shtml>) for a first offense.
