Lamborghini is recalling 5,900 Aventadors worldwide as well as three Veneno hardtops and nine Veneno Roadsters. They are being recalled due to fuel system failures that may lead to fires. Apparently gas vapors from the exhaust system could become dense enough to combust when coming in contact with the hot gasses from the rear of the vehicle.

Lamborghini goes on to say that the risk is increased when practices like revving in park are done and general asshat behavior takes place (we paraphrased that last bit). All owners of vehicles affected will be notified by certified mail and should expect to meet with their local dealership in the near future. Repairs will include an upgrade to the evaporation system.

The Lamborghini Aventador starts at around $400,000 and is powered by a monstrous 6.6-liter V12 cranking out an impressive 740 horsepower and lays down a 0-62 mph time of just 2.9 seconds.
