Pininfarina's Gorgeous Fittipaldi EF7 Vision Gran Turismo Supercar Makes Nearly 600 HP
Lightweight carbon-fiber construction and a big V8 is a recipe for good.

Pininfarina has dropped another teaser photo and more details about the supercar that it worked with Formula 1 and Indy 500 champion Emerson Fittipaldi to create, leading up to its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
The Italian design house said on its website that the new car will be built from carbon fiber; as a result, the new supercar will weigh in around 2,200 pounds. In addition to the lightness factor, the co-designing race car driver boasted about how the car's build materials and design can also work to protect its occupants if and when necessary.
“What was important to me in creating the EF7 is that the car not only provides pure passion and adrenaline but will also be forgiving and safe for drivers of all skill levels,” Fittipaldi said on Pininfarina's website.
Pininfarina also confirmed that the car will be packed with a naturally-aspirated V8 engine that gushes out upwards of 600 horsepower.
“Owner-drivers can expect reliability, lower maintenance cost and minimal mechanic and tech teams - which means more time and elation on the track,” Fittipaldi said.

Production for the car will be limited—official run numbers have not yet been released—but for those who can't afford to buy one of these things, the car will also be available for virtual driving via Gran Turismo on PlayStation. Hey, that's basically the same thing as driving in real life, right?
