Is This the 2018 Jeep Wrangler's Grille?
Leaked image shared to a Jeep Wrangler forum shows what seems to be the 2018 model's (slightly revised) front end.
See that familiar Jeep face below? That's not just any old Wrangler face. That's the front end of the new 2018 Jeep Wrangler, known amongst Jeep-heads as the JL. As in, the all-new off-roader that Fiat-Chrysler doesn't want you to see.
An anonymous source sent the picture to the people behind the JL Wrangler Forums, who graciously gave The Drive permission to share it here. While it may not look all that much different than the current JK-generation Wranger's grille to the layman, there are enough difference present to make this front end's provenance fairly obvious. The headlight apertures protrude out slightly, which will likely give the lamps a recessed appearance; those opening also intrude into the outermost of the seven slats. The turn signal openings are goneāthe signals have reportedly been moved to the bumpers for the new model. And the Jeep logo is gone, leaving us wondering where the SUV-maker plans on slapping its brand on the vehicle.
Between this image, the hood that made its way into a junkyard, and the plethora of spy shots out there, we're starting to get a decent idea what the next Wrangler will look like. The big question, then: When, exactly, will FCA show off this new Jeep in all its glory?
