For the rich who hate driving but desire the ability to gloat until world's end about their vehicle's supercar-spec top speed, [Bentley's new Flying Spur W12 S](<https://www.bentleymedia.com/release/780/>) is perfection on wheels. We hope those chauffeurs already took the time to earn their [Skip Barber certificates](<https://www.thedrive.com/accelerator/4151/five-things-i-learned-at-skip-barbers-advanced-racing-school>).

By putting its 626-horsepower, 6.0-liter, twin-turbocharged W12 motor to work, the [Flying Spur W12 S can hit 60 miles per hour from a standstill in 4.2 seconds](<https://www.bentleymedia.com/release/780/>). If you want to compare apples to electric pizzas, [it isn't Tesla P100D quick](<https://www.thedrive.com/news/4971/the-tesla-model-s-p100d-is-here-does-0-60-in-2-5-seconds>), but it holds up pretty well for a leather-and-wood-lined sled that weighs in around three tons. And the Tesla can't match the Bentley's devastating top speed of 202 miles per hour.

That absurd maximum velocity makes this car the first four-door Bentley ever to have an official top speed of more than 200 mph. To help climb it up there as quickly as possible, the car uses its rear-biased all-wheel-drive at launch; to help it slow down, which we assume people will probably sometimes want to do, owners can order their space shuttle-like Flying Spurs with carbon ceramic brakes.

Of course, this is a Bentley, so there's a lot more to it than speed. To keep passengers in the new Flying Spur W12 S satisfied, Bentley is using a new suspension configuration which it claims is optimized for comfort without compromising handling. If Bentley isn't pulling a fast one here—and we doubt the company is—it sounds like the new Flying Spur W12 S could potentially be the ultimate *autobahn*-ruler.

To go along with the massive speed and power, Bentley has changed most of the minor detail pieces around the car to darker=colored trim. That means the W12 S scores a black grille, brake light surrounds, smoked tail lights, optional carbon fiber, and gloss-black 21-inch wheels.

Orders for the new sedan open up sometime at the end of 2016. Pricing has not yet been announced...but we at *The Drive* bet potential buyers aren't all that concerned with such trivial matters.
