Police in Yavapai County, Arizona pulled over a 2003 Dodge Ram pickup on Thursday that was carrying some particularly special cargo *underneath* the truck's cab. Per a report from [*AZCentral*](<https://www.azcentral.com/story/news/local/arizona/2019/03/02/yavapai-county-sheriff-office-find-meth-hidden-underneath-truck/3043958002/>)*,* 46-year-old Juan Loya Loya was found to be transporting approximately two pounds of [meth](<https://www.thedrive.com/news/14380/auto-repair-shop-called-get-your-fix-sold-meth-and-heroin-on-the-side-feds-say>) after law enforcement conducted a K-9 search on his vehicle.

The traffic stop was initially performed due to an equipment violation on the Ram truck.

"He was extremely nervous throughout the interaction with the K-9 deputy, indicating he was heading from Phoenix to New Mexico," the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office said in a press release.

Officers explained that Loya Loya gave mixed information when being questioned, which raised their suspicion. They resultantly requested for permission to search his vehicle.

**Yavapai County**

It was then that they discovered a pair of packages in the truck's undercarriage, sandwiched against the transmission, containing one pound of meth a piece. According to Yavapai County PD, the drugs were estimated to have a street worth of nearly $36,000.

Officials explained that Loya Loya "acknowledged he was being paid to transport certain [property](<https://www.thedrive.com/news/24539/cops-find-1200-pounds-of-liquid-meth-worth-4-4m-hidden-in-semi-trucks-fuel-tank>) but was not told about the content or where the items had been placed in the truck."

The suspect was arrested on suspicion of transportation of dangerous drugs for sale, possession of dangerous drugs for sale and possession of dangerous drugs.

Loya Loya is currently being held on $10,000 bond.

This adds to the laundry list of recently captured sneaky smugglers in the southern states, though it doesn't come anywhere close to the [71 pounds of meth hidden in a vehicle's gas tank](<https://www.thedrive.com/news/20831/police-find-71-pounds-of-meth-in-cars-gas-tank-after-traffic-stop>) that was traveling across Texas last May. Cops found the street worth of that magnificent payload to total about $2 million, making for a case that reminds us of a real-life *Breaking Bad* situation.
